The Nietzschean belief that “God is dead” symbolized one of the most famous and often misunderstood critiques of Western civilization. Nietzsche believed God was dead because humanity had killed the practical value of God. The presence of God was removed from all aspects of everyday living. The Bible no longer has relevance to improve the workplace because people do not consult a priest when setting career goals or deciding on a job. God had been put “on the shelf,” only acknowledged on Saturdays or Sundays.
