Although Jung agreed with Freud that dreams could express repressed wishes and fears, he felt it was outdated to limit dream analysis to that view. For Jung, dreamwork contained ineluctable truths, philosophical pronouncements, illusions, fantasies, memories, plans, anticipations, irrational experiences, telepathic visions, and many other possibilities. Dreams give voice to the unconscious through symbol and metaphor.
